Cambio Climático Global e Impacto Regional

En esta línea se investigan los procesos físicos asociados a posibles cambios bajo condiciones de calentamiento global e impactos en diferentes sectores. Se utilizan observaciones, reanálisis y modelos climáticos tanto globales como regionales para generar simulaciones históricas y proyecciones futuras. Algunos procesos que se estudian son: cambios del nivel del mar, el monzón de América del Norte, el fenómeno de El Niño Oscilación del Sur, la sequía de medio verano, los ciclones tropicales, la corriente de chorro subtropical, vientos en bajos niveles y eventos extremos.
