Oceanografía y Circulación del Golfo de México y Mar Caribe

Dadas las actividades turísticas, pesqueras y de la industria petrolera en las cuencas de los mares orientales del país, así como los efectos que tienen sobre ellas el cambio climático y eventos extremos como la arribazón masiva de sargazo, se requieren de estudios especializados con observaciones y modelos numéricos para entender procesos de transporte y mezcla de momento, trazadores y contaminantes, así como el papel que juegan los fenómenos físicos en el ecosistema marino y en las actividades antropogénicas costa afuera.
